Mirik, a new hill station near Darjeeling, has a 1.25-km long lake, the Sumendu Lake, at the bottom of Mirik spur. There is a floating fountain in the middle of the lake and a quaint little footbridge connects the flower garden on the eastern bank to the heavily forested ridge on the west. The lake is provided with boating facilities.

The major attraction of Mirik. The arch bridge across the lake is 80 ft. long. Boating and fishing are two of the most popular pastimes here.
Rameetay Dara
A viewpoint from where one can get a sweeping view of the plains and the mountains. Sunrise and sunset seen from this point are unforgettable sights.
Deosi Dara
Another observation point offering a panoramic view of the plains, the hills and the peaks.
Rai Dhap
An ideal picnic spot. The source of drinking water for the whole of Mirik.
Debi Sthan
The revered Hindu temple, the Singha Devi Mandir is on the western bank of the lake.
Mirik is surrounded by some of the best teagardens of the region. Thurbo tea Estate, one of the best known, is only 2 km from Mirik. One can visit the factory to see tea being processed.
Mirik is the largest producer of oranges in West Bengal. The Orange orchards are situated on a spur 2-km from Mirik.
Cardamom is the largest producer of oranges in West Bengal. Most of the cardamom groves can be seen here in the marshy terrain.
Treks
Trekking from Mirik to the surrounding areas is gaining popularity. The most fascinating trek route is from Mirik to Kurseong via Balasan River and Namsu. The stretch can be covered in a day.
