In west Bengal people are celebrating Durga Puja from the past many years. This is the prime festival in Bengali culture. The whole Bengal is decorated with huge Pandals, beautiful images and statues of goddess Durga. People purchase sweets, new clothes, gifts, jewelry and other items on the occasion. People celebrate this auspicious occasion for nine days and on tenth day a grand worship takes place as this is considered the last day of festival. People show their devotion and happiness by dancing and singing.

Shopping in west Bengal is quite interesting activity. One can buy fascinating statues of goddess Durga and other statues made up of clay. Bengali sari is famous in India which is an art of weaving of Bengal. These saris are available in silk and cotton.
