Sikkim holy places seems to be an integral part of the tourism industry at Sikkim. The holy places in Sikkim are basically divided into monasteries, temples, mosques, gurudwara and churches, that adhere to the religious background of the people residing in Sikkim. Among the holy places of Sikkim, the monasteries deserve a special mention. Sikkim is a territory that celebrates Buddhism; therefore, we come across numerous monasteries within the territory of Sikkim. Melli - Melli is one of the famous Buddhist monasteries in Sikkim, which is located near Yuksam. Simik - Simik monastery was built during the Chogyal Tsudphud Namgyal's reign, and it is famous for its typical architecture.
Dubdi - Dubdi is one of the oldest monasteries of Sikkim: it is also known as the Hermit's Cell.
Tsuk-La-Khang - Tsuk-La-Khang is located at the royal premises near Ridge Park, Gangtok.
Pal Zurmang Kagyud - Pal Zurmang Kagyud is an excellent example of Tibetan monastic architecture.
