A vibrant hill station embraced by the states of Myanmar, Assam, Arunachal Pradesh and Manipur in the east, west, north and south respectively, Nagaland offers to the tourists fuel to the hungry mind and the thirsty soul in search of peace and recreation. The effective climate with almost a 5 degree centigrade during winters and the gradual rise of it during summers adds to the whole excitement of being in this place. Being an important hill station, Nagaland offers ample opportunities of trekking and mountaineering with white water rafting and the places which are most sought for these purposes are the Dzukou Valley and Zapfu Peak. Dzukou Valley, 30 kms from Kohima, is seen as a vast spread of bamboo brush. The erratic temperature, sometimes going sub-zero during the winters and the wild sprout of vivid flora during summers adds to the whole glory of the place. The low-clustered hill rocks with caves and rock overhangs in it make it an ideal spot for camping. Moreover, there is Japfu Peak, which too is an ideal trekking spot. The toil one has to go through while climbing these steep rocks is brushed away by the magical spell that the sunrise and the sunset put forth when one reaches the peak.
All these places are well connected through airways and roadways, Dimapur being the nearest airport.
