The Dampa Wildlife Sanctuary is situated at a distance of 130 kilometers from the capital city of Aizwal and is easily accessible from the city. The tourists may lodge in the Dampa Wildlife Sanctuary Government Tourist Lodge and Traveler's Inn which provides comfortable and spacious accommodation. The Counter Insurgency and Jungle Warfare School is also located in the wildlife sanctuary. The school trains the soldiers of various countries on the art of guerrilla and jungle warfare.
The Ngengpui Wildlife Sanctuary is situated in the border region of India and Bangladesh. The sanctuary covers a total area of 110 square kilometers and spreads over the altitude of 200 meters to 1200 meters. The forested area is supervised by the DFO Chhimtuipui Forest Division who has appointed 5 beat officers and a Forest Range Officer for the proper administration of the region. The deep interiors of the forest are home to a number of wild animals like the tigers, sambars, barking deer and the clouded leopard. Birds like the flower-peckers, pen-pheasants, sun-birds and the tragopans nest in the Ngengpui Wildlife Sanctuary in the state of Mizoram.
