Tourist Place in Maharashtra

The lovely state of Mizoram rests coyly in remote northeastern corner of India. Tourist attractions in Mizoram lie in the outstanding combinations of bluish mountains, placid lakes and green clad valleys. Aizawl: The capital city of Mizoram is a secluded hill station. The Tropic of Cancer runs through the heart of the city. Perched on an elevated ridge, the 112year old city looks like a citadel with its typical Mizo hamlets and a sea of flowers. There is a museum featuring costumes, artifacts and historical relics of the Mizos.

Tadmil: 85kms away from Aizawl, it is a tranquil lake. Choose to pedal a boat through the placid waters or just relax. The nearby jungle has a plethora of flora and fauna.

Vantawng Falls: on the backdrop of the green hills, this is a picturesque waterfall.

Phawngpui: This is one of the biggest tourist attractions in Mizoram with the trekkers and adventurers. The highest peak in the state has many fragrant herbs and rare species of orchids and rhododendrons.

Dampa Sanctuary: In the northwestern tip of Mizo Hills. The sanctuary houses swamp deer, tiger, leopard, elephant and hoolock gibbon.

Phawngpui

Phawngpui, the Blue Mountain of Mizoram is a highly revered peak, considered to be the abode of the Gods. Phawngpui Peak is the highest mountain peak in Mizoram, rising about 2165 m high near the Myanmar border in Chhimtuipui District. Phawngpui Peak is famous for orchids and rhododendrons. With spectacular trees and flowers of all colours, Phawngpui presents a fairytale view of the blue hazed hills, and vales unfolding below.

Phawngpui Peak in Mizoram exhibits the most enchanting view of Mizoram. There is a semi-circular beautiful cliff in the western side called Thlazuang Khamm, which has a sharp and deep fall. This cliff is believed to be haunted by spirits. On the peak, there is a level ground of about 200 ha in area. The area is encircled by matted bamboo groves and other alluring vegetations. You will come across varieties of butterflies, including some rare species found in this region.
