At a distance of 8 Kms.from the origin of river Narmada, the river falls from a height of 100 feet creating a waterfall known as Kapildhara. It is about 6 km away from Amarkantak, the starting point of Narmada and Son rivers. This beautiful spot can be reached on foot from Amarkantak.
In the Dhar District of Madhya Pradesh, there is a Lake named Kapur Talao. Kapur Talao is an artificial lake at Mandu. This lake is a natural beauty in Mandu. Ruins of a big water-gate and a crib are the popular spots here along with several palace buildings which can be seen by the visitors.
This lake was a precious source of water and is located near Jahaz Mahal.
Located at a distance of 36 kilometres from Indore, Patal Pani is especially famous for the 150 feet high waterfall. The water falls to an approximate depth of 200-300 feet. The depth of water kund (pit) formed at the bottom of the falls remains unknown. According to folklore, it goes as deep as the underground world (patal). In other words, the bottom of this deep kund reaches Patal (netherworld).
The spot is also famous for trekking. This magnificent fall is also a popular picnic spot in Indore District.
The kund is supposed to be dangerous as the depth of it is still unknown. Unfortunately, every year this spot witnesses at least a couple of deaths, arising out of careless picnic goers.
