Kankaria Lake is another tourist attraction of Ahmedabad. It is Located Near Maninagar Area. The Kankaria Lake is a circular lake constructed in AD 1451 by Sultan Qutub-ud-din. Amongst the places to be visited in the lake is the island garden at its centre with a summer palace known as Nagina Wadi. A Lush green parks in center of Lake. Surrounding the Lake, an aquarium, a Boat Club, a Natural Historical Museum, a Zoo and losts of Restaurnts and Parlours make the lake a most beautiful and a must visit place to be seen in Ahmedabad. The 'Bal Vatika' or the ' Children's Park' makes it a great picnic spot and attracts tourists and localities from Ahmedabad.
It is beautiful lake between small hills. It was made by Shree Gaurishankar Oza, the Deewan of Bhavnagar. There is Balvatika for Children, and temple of Lord Shiva. There is a big palace for Highness Family. It is peaceful and lovely place.
The beach of Ghogha is on west side and about 19 kms away from Bhavnagar. There are Masjid of Hajrat Mohmmed Paigamber's time and Jain temples of ancient times. It has a historical Jain temple of Navkhanda Parshwanath from where a horde of bronze idols have been discovered.
The port-town continues to contribute its valued share as a minor port. The port was burnt thrice for frightening the Muslim lords of Gujarat and keeping British at bay. The burning of Rahimi, 1500-ton pilgrim ship, was the last show of Portuguese power, off the coast of Gogha.
