Salim Ali Bird Sanctuary : Located on the Charao Island near the Mandovi River this is one of the smallest bird sanctuaries in India. Housing a number of the rarest species of local and migratory birds and wild animals this is one of the most frequented wildlife sanctuaries in Goa. Covered with thick Mangrove vegetation the Salim Ali Bird Sanctuary is home to some 400 birds and numerous crocodiles, foxes, and jackals.
Bondla Wildlife Sanctuary : Situated at a distance of 38 kms from the Margao Railway Station this wildlife sanctuary in Goa is set on the green foothills of the western Ghats. Spreading over an area of 80 sq kms the Bondla Wildlife Sanctuary is infested with dense forests, perennial streams, rare birds, endangered animals and a variety of grass and shrubs. The sanctuary houses a botanical garden, a rose garden, a small deer-park and a zoo which includes the he sambar, gaur (Indian bison) and wild boar, the elephant and a variety of deer.
Mandovi- Zuari Wildlife Sanctuary : Located on the confluence of the Mandovi and the Zuari is this wildlife sanctuary of Goa. Covered with rich flora and fauna of Mangroves and Kandelia this wildlife sanctuary is home to a large number of fish, birds, snakes, jackals and crocodiles. Cotigao Wildlife Sanctuaries : Situated in Canacona Taluka, in south Goa this wildlife sanctuary in Goa is home to some of the rarest trees, shrubs, plants, birds and animals.
