Sukhna Lake

Sukhna Lake is a beautiful lake that lies in the foothills of Shivalik range. The unique thing about Sukhna is that it is a manmade lake. It is a 3 km long lake that was created in the year 1958. In the evenings Sukhna lake Chandigarh again coming alive with tourists, and families thronging the promenade, the Lakeview Cafeteria, the fast food - shops and of course at jetty for a boat ride. For children there are a number of joyrides and a mini train.

Chandigarh Sukhna Lake is the venue for many festive celebrations too. The most popular is the Mango Festival held during the monsoons when scores of varieties of mangoes are on display. From time to time other food festivals, featuring specialties from different Indian States, are also held here, along with cultural performances.
