St Joseph's Cathedral

St. Joseph's Cathedral-Hyderabad is one of the most beautiful churches in the city of Hyderabad. It is situated in the Gun foundry area in Hyderabad. The elaborate architectural work on the building is simply marvelous. One unique feature of St. Joseph's Cathedral is the bell tower on the top of church. The open bell tower contains five bells, which are huge in size. It is an awe-inspiring sight for the tourists.

Inside the church, there is an imitation of the famous painting, the 'Pieta' by Michelangelo. Even now, the church bells ring vigorously during an impending storm and people become aware of the forthcoming danger. Previously, as watches were not much used, these bells used to rang to indicate time. At present, the tradition of driving out evil spirits by ringing bells is still practiced by the priest.
