Hussain Sagar is a artificially constructed lake and holds water continuously. Hussain Sagar Lake is a major tourist attraction of the state. It was built on one of the tributaries of river Musi by Hazrat Hussain Shah Wali. Hussain Sagar was built during the time of the great builder Ibhrahim Quli Qutb Shah in 1562 to solve the problem of water crisis in the state. It is now popularly known as Tank Bund. The lake is now surrounded by a number of parks, temples and entertainment sites. One of the most attractive sites of Hyderabad, Lumbini Park, is situated near th famous Hussain Sagar Lake.
