Dhanbad is one of the most important industrial centres in India. Maximum mineral wealth of India is found in Dhanbad. Topchanchi, an artificial lake surrounded by green hills and forest lies 37kms away from Dhanbad. The Mithon Dam and Hydel Power Stations are located in this town. There is a water filter plant of Mineral Area Development Authority from where water supply is being made to this district.
