Fairs are an occasion to wear new clothes and fashion. Some people even color their cattle and take them for a walk to the fairs.
Kunda Mela in Pratappur has mesmerizing effect on the local folks and guests who come from different parts of the country. The primary goal of the fair is to promote trade of cattle. The fair is perhaps the biggest and most revered fair in Jharkhand. The fair is organized on the occasion of 'Falguni Shivaratri' attracting many traders and pilgrims.
Kolhua Mela, one of the biggest fair of Jharkhand is full of joy, Zeal, enthusiasm, and thrill. The fair is held twice at the day of Ram Navami and Basant Panchami. A shrine devoted to Goddess Kali, also known as 'Kuleshwari Devi', is the center of attraction.
Chatra Mela is primarily a cattle fair held on the day of Durga Astami during Dussehra festival. The cattle are colored and decked with colorful clothes.
Bhadli fair is a religious fair celebrated from ancient times. The fair takes place at Itkhori. An ancient temple of Goddess Kali and Lord Shiva is also situated here. Bhadli fair takes place on day of Makar Sankranti. People from all over the state gather together for celebrations in the fair.
